What we collect.

The application
Wyxen sends one message, once, the first time you run it: a random identifier generated on your machine and the version number. That is the whole payload. It exists so we can tell how many downloads become working installs, because the difference between those two numbers is the only way to know whether Windows is scaring people off at the SmartScreen prompt.
There is no hardware fingerprint, no usage tracking, no record of which settings you change. The identifier is random and is not linked to anything else. You can turn the ping off in settings, and Wyxen works identically with it off.
Wyxen has no account system. There is nothing to sign in to.
The website
When you download, we record the version, the day, your country, the referring page, and your browser's user-agent string. Your IP address is combined with the date and hashed, and only the hash is stored, so repeated visits on one day count once and the raw address is never written down. The hash changes daily and cannot be reversed.
There are no advertising trackers, no analytics scripts, and no third-party cookies. Cloudflare sits in front of the site and keeps its own standard request logs, as any network provider does.
What we never do
- Sell or share anything with anyone
- Track you across other websites
- Read files on your machine, other than the settings Wyxen manages
Turning it off
Open Settings in Wyxen and switch off the install ping. If you do this before the first launch finishes, nothing is ever sent. If you do it afterwards, the identifier already recorded is a random string with nothing attached to it and no way to trace it back to you.
