1.0.7.0 Plenty new features, benchmarking, and CPU tweaks
- Benchmark page. Measures CPU, memory, disk and latency jitter and saves every run, so you can see what a tweak actually changed rather than guessing. Includes a separate disk test with drive selection that reports sequential speed, random 4K IOPS and access latency.
- Every tweak now has an info button showing exactly what it will do: the registry keys with Windows default, your current value and the new one, or the precise commands it runs. Values are explained in plain English rather than just named.
- Windows apps section in the uninstaller, for Store apps that never appear in Programs and Features. Built-in components are listed but protected.
- Much deeper leftover scanning after an uninstall. It now walks the registry rather than checking a fixed list of places, finding services, COM registrations and entries that only mention the program inside their data. Each result shows how confident the match is.
- Restart button, in the title bar, the tray menu and Settings.
- Software list expanded from 23 to 211 apps, with search, app icons, and a grid or list view.
- Installed apps get Open and Open Folder buttons.
- Software installs show transfer speed and time remaining, can be cancelled, and report where the app was installed.
- Added plenty of new tweaks.
- Enabling and disabling a feature is one switch now, not two tweaks.
- Core parking states plainly how many cores stay active and how many can be parked.
- The power graph scales to what your hardware actually draws instead of a fixed 400W.
- Tweaks that change many values show how many are already set, and list the ones that didn't apply first.
- Removed Disable Fullscreen Optimizations.
- CPU tweaks could not be changed at all on some systems. Wyxen now uses the Windows power API directly, and repairs the settings allowed range where a third-party tweak had set it to zero which is what made every value get rejected.
- CPU tweaks showed "n/a" on any Windows not set to English, and on fresh installs where the settings had never been changed.
- CPU frequency showed a fixed "Estimated" value on some machines instead of updating.
- The Task Scheduler page was empty on any Windows not set to English.
- The disk benchmark measured the Windows file cache rather than the drive, which is why a hard disk could out-score an NVMe.
- Uninstalling anything installed for your user only (most winget packages) failed, because Windows won't allow it from an elevated program.
- Uninstaller errors explain what went wrong instead of showing a number.
- Restarting Wyxen could leave it broken, with the tray icon missing or errors on closing.
- Opening Wyxen while it was already running started a second copy.
- Double-clicking the tray icon opened the window and the stats panel at once.
- Tweaks that hang are skipped and retried instead of freezing the app.
- A tweak that ran without error but changed nothing reported success.
- Startup entries couldn't be removed after being disabled.
- Search in the Windows apps section did nothing.
- Large empty gaps in the disk scan results, and results from a previous drive staying on screen.
- The app is considerably faster throughout: lists build without freezing the window, and filtering is instant.
